Here are a few tips to help you unwind during this busy time.
1) Get to bed on time during the break. A few late nights, isn't a big deal but if you totally blow off bedtime, you'll regret trying to get back into the normal routine.
2) Limit screen time. I know, I know. It's hard. Smart phones, tablets, laptops, game consoles, and tvs do not make it easy. Try to stick to 1 hour or less (per day) and then pull out board games, books, puzzles, building/engineering games and art supplies to stimulate creativity.
3) Listen to audiobooks. I can't emphasize enough how relaxing this is. Combined with coloring or puzzle solving, you have a real relaxing winner.
4) Most importantly, focus on the reason your family celebrates this time of year. Meditate on the Savior. Celebrate the miracle of the lasting oil. Light the lights. Hug your family. Know that your are blessed to have made it to another holiday season.
