A Note to Students

My mission in life is to teach students to become positive, life-long learners. I want to impact your life in such a manner that you will make constructive decisions and contributions to society.

My goal is to teach students to want and enjoy learning. I appreciate diversity in learning and people. We learn from each other. It is my desire to inform, teach and reach the total student, academically, socially and emotionally.

I am asking you to do your part by taking responsibility for your learning because in the end, you will be the beneficiary. You will benefit emotionally, psychologically and financially. I want you to enjoy learning, be satisfied and successful in life.

You are empowered to take responsibility for your learning by participating in class, asking questions, getting clear directions and understanding homework and class assignments. Meet with your teacher to get clarity concerning what you are instructed to do.

Teacher/student conferences are important. This indicates to the teacher that you are interested in your education. Use all available resources, parents, teachers, other students, computers, and libraries to achieve your goal. It is intelligent to ask for help. Know that it is ok to make mistakes because we can learn from our mistakes.

I want you to be successful because you and others will benefit in the end. Remember: “Just as the butterfly must have the security of the chrysalis, so must the students leave the chrysalis of the educational environment and rely on their own inner resources.”

Become a life-long learner by doing your part.

Sincerely,
