Top Tips
- Build positive self-esteem by encouraging the child concerning their unique qualities, strengths and capabilities.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses early in a student's educational journey.
- Provide specific, genuine praise frequently.
- Parents should assist with homework, not do it for their child. Doing homework for children indicates that you do not trust your child to accomplish a task.
- Spend valuable time with your student to assess homework assignments. Investing this time will give parents a true measurement of their child's ability level.
- Ask your child's teacher if it is possible to obtain homework in advance, three or four days in advance. Our consultants plan homework over a three or four day period. This way, students are empowered to complete as many assignments as they like and free up other days for hobbies and recreational activities.
- Parents, cultivate a love of reading in your child. Have a variety of reading material in your home, and host a family reading night each week.
